A West African traditional food supplement, bark of the African bitter root plant contains biocompatible soap-like compounds that are absorbed rapidly into the blood.
In-vitro, the compounds improve cell membrane flexibility and lubrication, to act as a cellular lubricant and enables old red blood cells to have some attributes of younger blood cells. To produce ABRS we have to grow African Bitter Root, a tropical tree, for 6 years in strict organic farming conditions in a region with substantial infrastructure overhead for security and production. We then harvest the tree, wash the root, remove the very thin bark over the tap root, freeze drying and process it.
We have a team of ten full time local staff in Delta State, Nigeria dedicated to the farming of this one plant: we pay a real living wage, which is a multiple of the local wage levels, that enable our staff to send their children to school, and live comfortably. We are fully engaged with and are supported by the community, at all levels, with a Nagoya Protocol community agreement in place.
We have been working with ABRS since 2017, and now have thousands of the ABRS trees on our farms. We are expanding this to be millions, so we can drive the price down and improve access.
Dosage (Adults):
- Take 2 capsules with water.
- Do not exceed 32 capsules in any 24 hour period. Exceeding this amount may cause constipation.
Ingredients:
Each 200mg capsule contains: Dried African Bitter Root: 19.2mg, Salt NaCl 0.8mg (0.4%), BP Kaolin as Ph Buffer (remainder). HPMC capsule shell. Neglible NRV value.
No artificial additives, preservatives or sweeteners. 100% organic. Suitable for vegetarians. Root heat treated. Not capable of propagation. Grown under fully organic farming conditions. Standardised on a batch basis using GS-MS.
Storage:
Store in a cool, dry place out of the reach of children. May be frozen.
